Overview

Story

Washagamis Bay First Nation undertook a climate adaptation project to better understand how climate change is affecting daily life in the community. Through gatherings with Elders, youth, and community members, the project brought together Anishinaabe knowledge and climate science to explore seasonal changes, extreme weather, and impacts on food systems, health, and infrastructure. Community voices helped identify priority climate concerns and practical actions for the future. The project also supported learning and capacity building, and shared community knowledge through a short video that reflect local experiences and visions for resilience.
